Adopting Flat Friends Supports Small Animal Rescues
Guinea Pig lovers will be happy to know that one of Bonnie’s many friends is Flat Cavy. Flat Cavy is available for adoption from her Etsy store and can be customized to resemble your own guinea pig. Yukari is happy to donate 20% of sales to rescue organizations such as House Rabbit Society, Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary, Tranquility Trail Animal Sanctuary, Rabbit Advocates, BunnyLuv Rabbit Resource Center, and Zooh Corner Rabbit Rescue.
The Bonnie blog is updated with lots of photos of Bonnie making new friends in her adoptive homes. Yukari is efficient with her creations. “The standard ones take about an hour to make. The Customs and 3 Color Flat Cavy take about 2 hours,” she tells us. Her biggest selling items are the custom requests. “People really like to have custom versions of their furry companions,” she says.
Bonus items appear from time to time as well. In addition to Flat bunnies, guinea pigs, chinchillas, kitties, and puppies, there’s also bags, keychains, doggie bones, and even bunny poop named “Oopsie & Poopsie.” It’s certain to be the cutest poop you’ve seen all day.
Flat Bonnie’s Photostream on Flickr shows us all the places the busy, busy bunny and friends have been. Custom made Bonnies have appeared in so many homes, exotic locations, and met real pets in her likeness. Bonnie’s been dressed up, spotted with color, grown a head of shaggy hair, and dressed up for the seasons. The Halloween Bonnies were a special treat. Lost in the Woods, Mummy Bunny, Zombie Bunny, and Spider Bun were limited editions made in unique styles. Should we expect more for the coming holidays? Yukari reveals, “I have 2 designs picked for a Fall Edition and a Winter/Holiday Edition. I will have those ready for adoption soon.”Yukari is great with keeping up with the holiday demand. She tells us, “I can usually get custom [holiday] orders done in 7-10 days.” Don’t wait for the last minute though. You might lose your chance. It also helps to be thorough when filling out your order so she can best re-create the image of your special pet. “Order as early as possible. If you are ordering a Custom, take good pictures of your friend and write a description of fur markings. If you are ordering for someone else, I will be offering Gift Certificates.”
If you would like to adopt a Flat Cavy, Flat Bonnie, or any of their friends, check out her Etsy store or catch up with them on Facebook or Twitter for the latest news and happenings.
