Those of us who work in rescue are very familiar with the question, “There are guinea pig rescues?” This was the inspiration for our latest Orange County Cavy Haven campaign to highlight rescue and adoption. We’re having a lot of fun experimenting with social media to promote rescue and adoption so it only made sense to have our Adopted Piggy Photo Contest through our Facebook page.

We have already received many cute photos of adopted piggies and their stories. If you have an adopted piggy and want to submit a photo or just want to read the stories of the piggies who have already entered, you can find the link and more details on our Facebook page.

The contest runs through Friday, June 1, 2012. The winner receives a cuddle cup of his or her choice and the runner up will be featured on our Facebook page.

The guinea pigs do not need to have been adopted from OC Cavy Haven. Pigs are being entered from all over the country. We love to hear happy adoption stories and definitely want to support all the rescuers out there doing such great work!
