Orange County Cavy Haven, a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal welfare organization, will be holding their second annual “Pignic” at the Irvine Animal Care Center on Sunday, July 15th.

Location: 6443 Oak Canyon, Irvine, CA 92618
Time: 12:00pm until 4:00pm

The “So Cal Pignic” will feature adoptable guinea pigs, vendor booths, a silent auction and raffle, guinea pig contests, and guest speakers including Dr. Sari Kanfer from Exotic Animal Care Center in Pasadena.

Games include a guinea pig carrot eating contest and a guinea pig costume contest. The public is welcome to bring their guinea pigs; a health check and grooming is included in the admission ticket. It is recommended that guinea pig owners bring a pen for their pets and blankets or chairs to sit on.

Sprouts Farmers Market will be providing veggies for the guinea pig guests. Food vendors include zPizza, Phoney Baloney’s, and Snopel’s Bakery.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. All proceeds from the event support Orange County Cavy Haven, which rescues guinea pigs from animal shelters in Orange County, Los Angeles, and Riverside. Cavy Haven has been rescuing and rehoming guinea pigs since 2003.
