‘Charlie’s Angels’ Raise Funds for Arizona’s Piggie Poo Rescue at Bowl-A-Rama
The August 4th event, sponsored by Phoenix Animal Care Coalition (PACC911), begins at 11:30am at the AMF Bowling Alley in Scottsdale, Arizona. All donations to the Piggie Poo team will be used for the care of rescued guinea pigs.
PACC911’s website describes the event as, “a fantastic and much needed fundraiser for the animal community. This one-of-a-kind event, conceived by board member Eileen Proctor, allows the individual groups with limited resources, a chance to raise ‘big bucks’ at no cost to them!”
The Piggie Poo bowling team has plans to honor Charlie, a much beloved guinea pig, with additional costume elements. “The teams all do cheers, dress up, etc. It’s a wild affair!” Anderton explains, “In Charlie’s honor, we’re all wearing wings and halos, too. Get it? Charlie’s Angels?”
PACC911’s website shares information about previously successful Bowl-A-Rama events. “On August 7, 2010 the animal rescue community gathered at the AMF Bowling Alley in Scottsdale for a day of fun, food, and camaraderie for homeless animals in Maricopa County. Collectively we raised $218,000 thanks to our donors big and small.”
Many animal rescue organizations and volunteers will be taking part in this annual activity. As of 2008, $1.4 million had been raised in this event with 95% going directly to animal welfare organizations throughout the Valley.
The Piggie Poo Rescue team has raised $70 so far but they have high hopes to draw more attention as the event approaches. If you would like to sponsor ‘Charlie’s Angels’ during the Bowl-A-Rama, click ‘Donate’ on the Arizona Piggie Poo donation page and note that you are sponsoring Bowl-A-Rama. “Any help we can get is truly appreciated!” Anderton says.
